RichardS Staff answered 5 years ago ESP8266’s require 200-300mA of current when they send out the beacon pulse, one every 1/10 of a second, it is at this point that a LDO/regulator will potentially cause the chip to brown out…. LM1117 work nicely and this is what a lot of people use, in combination to a large 100uF/16V type capacitor.
