Here is a clearer picture of the #ESP8266 pinout from the flashing one Adafruit posted, along with their part number 2102 header that allows for breadboard use (take out the male-male pins and you have female to breadboard connector). This ESP8266 tech is moving at a rapid pace, it’s hard to pin down the tomato seed, although Adafruit’s contribution to code is much welcome.
